Gary Bailey, MSW, ACSW

Gary Bailey, MSW, ACSW, is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He received his BA from the Eliot Pearson School of Child Study at Tufts University in 1977 and his MSW from Boston University School of Social Work in 1979. Bailey was the Executive Director of Parents and Children’s Services of the Children’s Mission from 1993-1999. He currently is Professor of Practice, Director of Urban Leadership Program at Simmons College Graduate School of Social Work. He also is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Boston University School of Public Health.

Bailey was President of the NASW National Board of Directors from 2003-2005 and President-elect from 2002-2003.  He served as Treasurer of the NASW National Board of Directors from 1995-1997, as Chair of the National Finance and Development Committees, and was as a member of the National Program Committee.  Bailey was President of the Massachusetts Chapter of NASW from 1993-1995.  Both National NASW and the Massachusetts Chapter named him Social Worker of the Year in 1998.  He is a member of the NASW Social Work Pioneers.
