James Townsend, MSSW, MHA, ACSW

James H. Townsend, MSSW, MHA, ACSW, is Senior Vice President of Field Operations for Evercare.  Evercare is an organization providing services to the vulnerable and frail elderly in nursing homes and community settings.  Mr. Townsend has Profit and Loss responsibility for eight states.  Prior to joining Evercare, Mr. Townsend was President and CEO of J.T.E. & Associates, a health care consulting company.  His responsibilities included:  policy development, strategic business planning/assessment, sales/marketing, mergers/acquisitions strategy, and physician and hospital network development, evaluation, and monitoring.  

In addition, Mr. Townsend was Executive Vice-President of CalFarm, Vice-President and Chief Operating Officer of Omni Healthcare, Senior Vice-President of Medicaid Operations for Foundation Health, Director of Clinical Operations at the United Clinics of Counseling, Inc., and Assistant Professor at St. Mary’s College.  Memberships in professional organizations include: the Academy of Certified Social Workers and the National Association of Social Workers.  

Mr. Townsend has held chapter, regional, and national positions with NASW.  He served as President of the NASW Wisconsin Chapter, Chairman of the National Committee on Minority Affairs, Chairman of Midwest Coalition of NASW Chapters, member of National Finance Committee, and member of the National Program Committee.  Mr. Townsend has served on numerous nonprofit and for-profit boards.  He received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Aurora University, a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of Wisconsin, and a Masters Degree in Health Administration from St. Mary’s College.  He has been a member of NASW since 1973.
