Joanne Cruz Tenery, MSSW-LMS

Joanne Cruz Tenery, MSSW-LMS, received her MSSW from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1993 and has been an active member of NASW since 1992.  She was a Graduate Student Representative on the NASW National Board of Directors and the NASW/Texas Chapter Board of Directors in the early 1990s.  She served on the Texas Chapter Board of Directors as Unit Chair twice, fulfilled a former Unit Chair's incomplete term, and completed a second term on the NASW National Board.  Joanne contributed to the NASW Pioneer Room at NASW Headquarters and has been a supporter of the NASW Foundation for many years.

Joanne was the Member Relations Manager for Parkland Community Health Plan, the largest county-hospital based Medicaid health plan in Texas (she is now retired).  In that role, she developed and implemented strategies for outreach, improving services to members, and developed advertising and marketing for the health plan.
