The NASW Foundation is proud to honor the 2018 recipients of the NASW and NASW Foundation Recognition Awards.  Award recipients were celebrated on June 22 during A Night At The Awards – A Night To Remember at the 2018 NASW National Conference held at the Marriott Wardman Park Hotel in Washington, D.C.

• Flavio F. Marsiglia, PhD, MSW - Knee/Wittman Lifetime Achievement Award;

• James R. MacKay, PhD, MSW - Knee/Wittman Lifetime Achievement Award;

• Virna Little, PSYD, LCSW-R, SAP, CCM - Knee/Wittman Outstanding Achievement Award;

• Ambassador Wendy R. Sherman - International Rhoda G. Sarnat Award

• Jay Berlin, PhD - Public Citizen of the Year;

• Kimber Nicoletti-Martinez, LCSW - Social Worker of the Year;

• Ruth Brandwein, PhD, MSW - Lifetime Achievement Award; and

• Knoxville, Tennessee Mayor Madeline Rogero - Public Elected Official of the Year.

NASW and the NASW Foundation proudly showcased this amazing group of social work colleagues at an elegant reception with the musical sounds of the Roaring 20s — jazz, blues, and big bands. The reception was held in the ballroom of the historic Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, which opened in November 1918, just days after the Armistice with Germany ended World War I.
