Please Donate To The NASW Foundation December 1 For GivingTuesday!

At a time when we are all experiencing the pandemic, generosity is what brings people of all races, faiths, and political views together across the globe. Generosity gives each one of us the power to make positive change in the lives of others and is a fundamental value we can act on.

GivingTuesday is an opportunity for people around the world to stand together in unity—to use their individual power of generosity to remain connected and to heal. With that in mind, during these exceedingly challenging times, the NASW Foundation needs your support more than ever before. Together we give and impact lives.

As you are aware, the NASW Foundation is a 501(c)(3) organization created in 2001 to support NASW’s educational, research, and charitable initiatives through a wide range of diverse programs and projects that serve and promote the social work profession, the practitioner, and the public.

We fulfill our core mission of enhancing the well-being of individuals, families, and communities through the advancement of social work policy and practice. Since 2001, the Foundation has raised and invested approximately $40 million in a wide array of programs and activities.

  • We strive to train social workers, with outside grant assistance, to provide services to clients through the NASW / Hartford Supervisory Leaders in Aging; Social Work HEALS—Social Work Healthcare Education and Leadership Scholars; Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders and alcohol awareness; and many other special projects. • We work with the NASW Social Work Pioneers® to recognize and honor members of the social work profession who have contributed to the evolution and enrichment of the profession. And we fund scholarships, fellowships, and recognition awards that help to educate the next generation of social workers and recognize social workers for outstanding achievements. • We help the NASW Chapters to raise funds to support educational, research, training, and scholarship activities at the state and local level; and our Ruth Fizdale Program underwrites NASW Chapter research projects that link practice and policy issues with relevant social issues.
