Past Events


Our past events section provides a glimpse into the NASW Foundation's history, friends, partners, supporters, and our NASW members. The NASW Foundation has planned, hosted, and implemented a wide array of events ranging from galas and anniversary celebrations to the annual NASW Social Work Pioneers® Annual Luncheon and Program and A Night At The Awards: A Night To Remember, the presentation ceremony for NASW and Foundation national awards.

Since its founding in 2001 Foundation has, and continues to, work with NASW on national conferences every two years and works with NASW and outside partners on policy, training, and educational events, meetings and seminars. All of our efforts are directed at serving the profession, the practitioner, and the public, in an effort to live up to our mission to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and communities through the advancement of social work policy and practice.

The 2003 Knee/Wittman Achievement Awards Ceremony and Reception took place on Friday, August 1, 2003, at the Hyatt Regency - Capitol Hill, in Washington, D.C., from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. The ceremony, attended by more than 100 people, was held in conjunction with the NASW Annual Leadership Meeting (July 31-August 3, 2003). Gary Bailey, MSW, President of NASW, served as master of ceremonies.

The 2003 Social Work Month Gala was held on March 13, 2003 at the Hyatt Regency, Capitol Hill from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Approximately 120 people attended the Gala honoring Child Welfare Social Workers. Douglas W. Nelson, President of The Annie E. Casey Foundation, delivered the keynote speech.
