Past Events


Our past events section provides a glimpse into the NASW Foundation's history, friends, partners, supporters, and our NASW members. The NASW Foundation has planned, hosted, and implemented a wide array of events ranging from galas and anniversary celebrations to the annual NASW Social Work Pioneers® Annual Luncheon and Program and A Night At The Awards: A Night To Remember, the presentation ceremony for NASW and Foundation national awards.

Since its founding in 2001 Foundation has, and continues to, work with NASW on national conferences every two years and works with NASW and outside partners on policy, training, and educational events, meetings and seminars. All of our efforts are directed at serving the profession, the practitioner, and the public, in an effort to live up to our mission to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and communities through the advancement of social work policy and practice.

The NASW Foundation and the NASW Black Caucus co-sponsored the annual Whitney M. Young, Jr., Memorial Lecture and Tea, February 20, 2003. More than 90 people attended the event, held from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Gallaudet University’s Kellogg Conference Center in Washington, D.C. to celebrate the life and legacy of civil rights leader, social worker, and past NASW President, Whitney M. Young, Jr.  William Lawrence Pollard, PhD, MSW, delivered the keynote address.
