The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the NASW Foundation fondly remember Nancy A. Humphreys, who passed away February 9, 2019. Among her many accomplishments, Nancy served as NASW President (1979-1981) and was only the second woman to be elected National NASW President. As President she traveled extensively, visiting 51 NASW Chapters throughout the United States. She is a member of the NASW Social Work Pioneers®. In 2018, NASW and The University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) Steve Hicks School of Social Work will complete a successful partnership representing social work in the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Collaborative for Alcohol-Free Pregnancy.
